Industrially, resistors are not manufactured for all values, but rather there are a series of standardized resistors. When designing and calculating that we need a certain resistance, we must adhere to the nearest standardized resistance.
With this calculator, we can obtain the closest lower and upper standardized resistors to a design resistance value. Three ranges of standardized resistors are provided, depending on the tolerance series we are using.
For each range, the immediately lower and upper standardized resistances to the design value are provided, since, depending on the role they play in our design, we will want the resistance to be “at most” or “at least” the entered value.
